Apparently it's quite bad, and critics are judging that by the Pilot alone so doesn't look good.

Very strong premiere numbers, lets see how it does in 4 weeks time though!

Just seen the pilot there, very VERY weird..most bizarre show i've seen in a long time, honestly....it's WAY too offbeat and quirky to be mainstream, the editing dosen't help....very quick fire, twas a fair bit more adult in terms of language and sex then expected.

I'm finding it hard to put it into a box or even describe it...it's not scary, it's just very very weird....and not ina good way, the music was overpowering, it didn't suit the show at all....very Hitchcock, i'll give it one more but tbh it's just too bizarre for my taste.

Thought it was terrible. Odd music and atmosphere. Was really weird and as Richard said, the editing doesn't help.

One thing that pissed me off, it seemed like a day between when they had sex and when she turned up pregnant. I don't think that's possible, and considering it's probably going to be a major plotpoint, it pretty much turned me off the show

I dunno i thoroughly enjoyed it...Its definately not gonna be a lot of peoples cup of tea but i thought it has a lot of potential..it had a bit of a twin peaks/American gothic kinda wtf vibe which i thoroughly enjoyed..and the maid is hot:D Im actually quite looking forward to next weeks episode ...Is discussion of the episode allowed or does it have to be spoilered.?

^ if discussing next weeks ep. before it airs you must spoiler tag your comments.

I thought it was a brilliant pilot episode, the best I've seen in a long time. As my girlfriend said, if you didn't know about it before (being a tv show) you'd swear you were watching a movie, great production and cast.

I'm sure it won't be for everyone, but for those who do watch it it'll create great discussions about each episode!!!

Unless your comments are just speculation or anticipation. If you've actually seen it or heard specific details about it, then you should spoiler tag those.

I thought it was bloody awesome! Main worry is that it's far too edgy and weird for TV and I don't see how it will avoid the hatchet.

I loved it - it's the best of the new seasons shows. Total cliche-fest and the melodrama was turned up to 11 but it still creeped me out a couple of times.

    Excellent.

Just finished the pilot, it was interesting enough, not sold on the show (yet). I's shot very well, opens up a lot of avenues for exploration, not so much on the main characters but definitely enough for me to want to see ep2, which is about all you can ask. I don't know if i'll be attaching to any of the main cast though...more questions than answers but sure that's what the season is for!

One of the best pilots i've ever watched. Loved every minute of it. Problem is yanks are idiots and it will be cancelled after one season because its a bit odd and weird. They prefer the Glee the morons...............

Whoever mentioned Twin Peaks had intrigued me enough to check this out tonight.I had seen the "Glee" promo on FX but didn't think it looked great.I do like Zachary Quinto so I'm hoping this will be good.

This was really good, will definitely keep watching, Jessica Lange was brilliant in it

Watched this last night.. quite enjoyed it although it did feel more like a series of homages than anything else.

Still, quite entertaining and something a little different.

    Absolutely fantastic.

Got around to watching this last night. T'was rather strange but I enjoyed it overall. The girls in the school are psycho. :D

    Thoughts on eppy 2?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭DeWitt

Well I've only watching the opening scene, and already my skin is crawling. Clearly that's a good sign.
Anyone else think the "Fatty Patty, fatty Patty" guy might be the Rubber man?

I don't even. This show completely blows my mind. Rewatching this on DVD is going to be amazing.
    Conspiracies away!

I want to watch every episode of this right now! I haven't instantly loved a show this much since Dexter.

The opening credits are fantastic aswell!

Second episode was even better than the first..

    .. excellent stuff!

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,973 ✭✭✭✭titan18

Didn't like the first episode as said already, thought the 2nd episode was excellent though. Thought it was a really big improvement

Loving this. The second episode really ramped up the creepy factor. There were loads of suspense-filled moments. Jessica Lange is fantastic.

Hope they can keep it up.

While I enjoyed Episode 1, I felt this was average at best. The contrived trip to Boston, the poisoned muffins, the young escort, the room of mirrors(yawn),the conversation at the end between Tate, the cleaner and the lady next door. It's not doing anything for me tbh.

Enjoyed episode 2 much more than the 1st; if they're gonna give me a history-of-the-house horror opening before the credits, and crazy stuff like the main storyline of ep 2, i'm all for it and can overlook the bland main characters! I wonder if this was a big episode and subsequent eps can't compare to it, because so much stuff went down. Loved the psycho music at the start of the episode, it really has a nice soundtrack beyond the screetching music.

I wonder if Jessica Lange knew of the impending intruders, which is why she brought over the cupcakes. All in all, it's done it's job, i'll be checking out the rest of the season. The down's syndrome kid is really freaky, i wonder what connection she has to the house. I hope they don't fall into the trap of asking more questions without answering previous ones first.

how many eps are in a season?

    13..

.. and there's a 2 part Halloween special airing in the one week (Wednesday [Oct 26] and then Monday [Oct 31]).

    Ep 3.

I'm really starting to enjoy this show now.
The whole 'shovel to the face >> drinks with the wife' sequence totally cracked me up. Great stuff.

This show is crazy, really enjoyed episode 3. All the characters are growing on me now. :D
Didn't see the kill coming at the end, I half thought he was hallucinating her to be perfectly honest.
