Hey all im new to boards my friend advised me to try it out and see if you guys could help me out.

My situation is that iv been a Retail manager for the past 4 years now and iv decided to go back into education. One of my mates said to look for an accreditation course to see if my experience in management would help me along the way in doing a level 7/8 course without having to do the 3/4 years required.

Any advice is most welcome as I will need any bit of info of how to go about getting this type of course ie. where to go,how much it cost,is it possible to get one......ye get the point.

    Thanks in advance

Have no idea about that kind of thing myself, sorry. But maybe if you contact the School in the area that you want to study they will probably be able to give you the info that you want.

    Welcome to boards btw :)

EDIT: I see you've posted in a few different college fora, you could try the 'mature & non-traditional students' forum, don't think you posted there. They might have more information than here.

I'd follow the above advice, you'd have to contact the school. After a quick Google, I found the policy on Accreditation of Prior Learning and the application form, which might be of interest. One had the following line:
Students seeking accreditation of prior learning for EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING should contact the relevant Programme Office/Graduate School Office in the first instance to discuss their application.

I've only heard of people getting accreditation for previous modules they have done, so I'm not sure if what you are asking about is actually possible. I think you'll be looking at 3-4 years regardless if you want to do a level 7 or 8. I don't know much about the level 7 courses though. I could be wrong, but I don't think you'll be able to do it in less than 3. Obviously it depends on the course and the individual school.
