It was my first ever 10k last year, and have done a few others since. It was very well run, closed roads, 3 water stops on the 10k (don't know about the walk and cycle) and a huge feed afterwards. Great atmosphere and the weather was fantastic. None of the others came close (except for the Waterford HM).

Just got an email from the organisers with more information for the day, and the routes.

So far the weather forecast is looking good too!

· Race time, date & venue: 11am, March 26th Newmarket Celtic Soccer grounds

· Race number collection: Your race number will be available for collection from 6pm to 10pm on the Friday night before the race and from 8.30am to 10.00am on race day, 26th of March at our race HQ in Newmarket on Fergus national school. For Insurance proposes No-one will be allowed compete in the event without a race number.

· Road closure: Parts of the 3 routes will be closed to vehicle traffic on the day. Therefore it is vital that you arrive before 10.00am and park your car before the road closure takes effect. Please car pool if possible. Car Parking will be signposted on all routes entering the village for those not familiar with the area.

· Race HQ: Your race HQ will be open from 8.30am on the morning of the race. Please come early to avail of giveaways from our kind sponsors. A dedicated team will man the registration desks and will be open from 8.30am to 10.00am.

· The routes: Below is a link to a map of the routes, please note that the finish is the Newmarket –on –Fergus Gaa Club. There will be ample refreshments provided in the Gaa grounds after the events and all are welcome. Water stations will be positioned at various points on the routes.

Best of luck to those running today. Weather is perfect for it. It was a great run last year and disappointed I cannot do it this year due to exams in afternoon.

Just back over 1800 participants.

It shows what a community can achieve when everyone pulls together.

There was not one thing that you could fault with the organisation and running of this event. Even Pakie did his bit with the whether.


Ran a PB of 46:25 10K

Well done with the PB. It was a great day. Fantastic atmosphere, and good crowd. Seemed to be a lot more cyclists this year, I think I heard someone say about 200.

The spread of food and drinks afterwards was excellent, and the balloon race looked good too. Curious to know where the winning ones end up.

Sorry i didnt do this but i have Mallow tomorrow. Very few runners around Limerick today i guess they were all out there. Delighted to hear they got so many runners.
