Hi all, my garden is seperated from the neighbours by a sort of a chain link fence. I'd like a bit more privicy but I don't want to put up big fences or grow massive hedges. I was thinking of some sort of climber or fruit bush that would act as a barrier and have some tasty fruit. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

any berry / climbers such as blueberry /blackberry
also gooseberry or loganberry but they can grow upto 6-7 feet tall AFAIK
just keep them trimmed vertically and should be alright

that's all i can think of off the top of my head for now (i'm tired :D)

Blueberry will hit 5 foot but very picky bout soil type needs PH between 4 or 5. Slow to grow, nice fruit.

Gooseberry only grow to 3/4 foot. Caterpillars are a pain.

Blackberry will work (6 foot canes) but loses leaves. Fruit is horrible (I think). The roots grow just under the ground and canes pop up 6 foot from where you plant it in 3 years. Not a big deal, just letting you know.

Redcurrant, blackberry (6 foot) have a wide spread from main stem, not sure if pruning will work, fruit is horrible (I think).

have a friend who has gooseberries and loganberries planted around 1986-7 and the top of the bush
is almost gutter height (bungalow obviously:D) never had a caterpillar problem (probably too bitter) lots of citric acid i think
