Eircom SMTP server

Ok my mother has a problem with her email.

Back in the day, she got an "@gofree.indigo.ie" address and all was working fine up until recently. But now her outgoing mail isnt working (mail1.eircom.net as the SMTP).

Now I understand that Indigo was taken over by Eircom years ago but we've been using the Eircom mail servers ever since with no problem at all. But the SMTP has suddenly stopped working a few days ago, whereas the POP3 is fine.

Does anyone know another server that might work? It's going to cause a huge kerfuffle to try and migrate her to Gmail, even though I've been saying it for ages that she should. She doesnt want to. So are there any other outgoing Eircom SMTP servers that would work for an Indigo account or another free one I could piggy-back her onto?

    Thanks.

The outbound SMTP is dictated by your ISP unless your authenticating so it doesn't matter what your email address is so long as you use your ISP's SMTP server to relay your email.
    Who's your Mum's service provider?
Have you tried to send from another mail client e.g. Thunderbird?

Use this site to determine your public IP
    http://www.wimi.com

search it here if listed anywhere reboot your router and try send mail again

Can you post any error messages you get when trying to send mail?
