New esb digital meters

    I have noticed that Board gais is replacing all there meters to digital meters,When is the esb stating this measure and what part of the country will be first to change ?, what happens in a country house that is not used regular are owners given much notice, thanks.

    Thanks for your enquiry.

    Many of our customers already have digital meters installed. These meters have scrolling electronic displays which show a number of different figures depending on the amount of times you press the front panel button (for example, day/night readings, time, date, etc).

    As ESB Networks are in charge of the installation and maintenance of meters on behalf of all electricity providers in Ireland, you would need to contact them if you are looking to find out if/when all meters are expected to be of this type. Their contact details are listed here.
