Nothing offensive? Are you joking? He was constantly attacking and threatening with kimuras. Not easy to pull of when he protecting the arm by grabbing his shorts. Sure it was as offensive as some great bjj practoners (maia et al) but don't be ignorant and say hardy wasn't offensive.

To be fair he never actually looked like pulling it off though, the one time he actually got the arm out Johnson just freed his arm with relative ease.

Yeah I seen those half-arsed kimura attempts, he couldn't move one of Johnson's arms with both of his own arms. I didn't say that he attempted nothing at all. The whole idea behind BJJ is to use leverage rather than strength, Johnson was happy to let him work away on the arm because he knew Hardy has no technique.

He was close twice, he just never bent the arm and was stuck in a straight armbar position rather than a kimura. In fact, a straight armbar is harder to finish on the bottom. I doubt he would have finished them but I was responding to the "dan wasn't offensive" comment which was bull.

People are questioning how Dan Hardy got a title shot... after his weakness was exposed in a fight.. 12 months AFTER he got his title shot. This same weakness which had NOT been exposed en route to his title shot.

Some people on this board need to get a grip sometimes.

He didnt really fight any decent wrestlers on the way to the title shot though.His toughest opponents were Swick & Davis.
