Oh No a big problem,,help please

As above the kids have been on the internet again and im overun with viruses,,,im not too computer savvy and i dont think i had any protection or antivirus stuff..So basically whats happening is im getting a window saying YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED,PLEASE ACTIVATE YOUR ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE,,,is this serious,,when it does a scan its telling me its found 36 viruses or something,,and im asked to buy antiviruses in a Systm Tool window,,,,So folks what am i to do,it seems to be working allright but theres a prompt that keeps comeing up and makeing a pingpong ball sound and its doing my head in as i speak,,,do i have to go to PC World or the likes and buy a antivirus or what,,,thanks in advance,,,

This is a scam, you're almost certainly not infected.

Do a google search for this condition and you should find the most up-to-date info on how to stop it. It can be a pest and you'll need to know a little more about the PC, but that's no harm anyway.

No point in trying to talk you through this as most of the tool used to fight it will have been disabled from user use.

When you have it sorted out, Window Defender is reasonable and free.

Has the same problem last week and thought i was in big trouble,my son told me to download avg free and this removed the problem and now my computer is protected
