Sooo..... Your biggest fear would be some guy you never met before, coming up to you in a hospital with a bloodstain on his bandaged arm and wanting to talk about the amount of blood the nurses just took from him using a GIANT needle! :pac: :pac: :pac: Would you run for your life?

Elevators, I refuse to get in one if there are more than 2 ppl in it, I don't want them using up all that air if we get stuck!! I only use them when there is no stairs option and kinda hyperventilate til I get to my floor!!

I am always having nightmare where I am in an elevator and the cable snaps and it bombs to the floor, I always wake up before the impact though.....man I hate that dream :(

Esculators. Well more specifically, bening blocked and not able to get off an esculator at the top or bottom. Terrifies me.

I googled it and someone suggests "Escalaphobia" but surely someone else has coming up with a posher more latin sounding name. I will go look up what the Roman name for esculators was.

OMG, me too!!! Get an insane urge to shove people in front of me off, incase they block my way off the escalator. Going up is the worst as I have an image of me falling back down the way. And think I will get sucked in under it going down:o

Muriphobia. Fear of mice, no doubt about it.

And its not just "ugh, a mouse". It is a full on melt down. MANY times, ive been driving (fast) when a mouse/rat have crossed the road in front of me. I would rather turn the car onto its roof than drive across it... have it underneath me. I have this irrational paranoid fear itll somehow climb up the wheel and get into the car. And I'll be trapped. Besides, i dont want any bit of it on my wheels. Just writing that is making me shudder like crazy.

Acrophobia, arachnophobia and social phobia.. oh and ive a huge fear of puking too :-/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,789 ✭✭✭✭ScumLord

I don't think I have any Phobias. That is I don't have a irrational fears, everything that should scare me does scare me.

I don't have any animal based phobias, it would be silly for me to be scared of something lower down on the food chain.

It sounds weird, but I have a phobia of ketchup! Just looking at it makes me feel sick and if I touch any of it, I start panicking and have to go wash my hands for ages.

I think it comes from playing "Fear Factor" when I was 11/12... One of the guys came up with a round where we all had to drink a glass of water mixed with salt & ketchup. Worst thing I ever drank, still felt sick two days later!

(am retching now just thinking of it!)

I've a fear of earwigs. euwww even writing the word makes me squirm. though my fear is completely justified. I got this idea in my head one night before bed that earwigs were going to get into my bed, and how awful would that be, so my mam told me not to worry about something so silly, and off i went to bed. decided to check my bed for 'them' before i got in, there they were- 2 of them in my bed! Freaked out!

for months after I was checking my bed every night before I got in. i got out of that habit anyway. then one night i suppose i was reminded that I used to check it. and just got this feeling that I should. so got out turned on the light and looked, 2 on the inside of my bed cover! freaking out again!

one morning getting breakfast, pouring out my cornflakes, was looking at them falling in, out pops an earwig into my bowl!

I know there were more incidents but I just can't remember. so yeah I've an extreme phobia of 'them' *shudders*

(my dad works in a mdf processing factory and so we always had wood out the back, and we'd old windows with little holes in them for ventilation, so that's how they'd get in, and through the drains)

I had deusphobia for years and years until I finally came to terms with the fact I didn't believe there really was a god. Even the thought of God would send me into absolute terror - sweats and crying and everything. It was intense .

I don't really have any phobias now. Unless you count mild hypochondria. It's the curse of having google at your fingertips to look up any small thing wrong with you :P

Can't happen. I'm after getting hypnotised loads of times. Your completely aware of everything going on around you sobit would be impossible for them to get you to do anything that you didn't want to do.
