    Found brown and white cocker spaniel just outside tralee, has been around awhile i would love to keep this dog if owner wasnt found but have two dogs already and would not have room, if i was to carry this dog to the pound what at the chances he will be re homed, any advice with what to do would be helpfull.

    Please don't bring him to the pound as if a home is not found within 5 days he will be put to sleep.

    Can you bring him to the vet to see if he is microchipped? most vets will do the scan for free. have you put up posters in local vets/pet shops/supermarkets etc?
    maybe post in the lost and found section on boards and contact your local radio station.

    also let the local pound, gardai and dog warden know that you have him in case someone is looking for him

    After contacting the pound, guards, vets etc
    You could also ask contact a local dog trainer - Smart dogs - to see if they know who owns him.

    You must notify the pound or the Gardai to say that you have him and you must wait five days for an owner to come forward. After that you coud contact Animal Help Net in Tralee they may be able to assist in rehoming him through their adoption days in Petmania in tralee.
    Another option is Animal Heaven Animal Rescue - they regularly take dogs from tralee pound

    If you dont notify the pound, you dont have to surrender the dog just notify it, legally the original owner can reclaim the dog anytime up to a year and day.
