I am trying to set-up a wireless network in my house using a Netgear WG602 V3 router I got second hand from work. I have reset the router back to factory settings and have got as far as establishing the network but so far I have been unable to establish an internet connection over the network.

My ISP is Ripplecom. I am able to get internet access via the LAN cable plugged directly into the laptop so the ISP doesn't seem to be an issue.

I'd imagine I don't have the right IP details put in the right places

I understand there may be further information required in order to help me so if any further details are required please let me know.

    Thanks for any help received.

    According to this http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2574
what you have is a wireless point rather than a proper router.

You should be able to. Thats what that box is designed for.
Are you using the Netgear in conjuction with a router supplied by Ripplecom?

If so, turn off any DHCP settings in the Netgear. DHCP addresses should only be allocated by the Ripplecom router.

If IP settings are already entered in the Ripplecom router (if it exists) you don't need to enter them again in the Netgear.

You might not get it working just with this info but I'm certain it can work.

I only have a Ripplecom modem. I am trying to use the Netgear as my router to wirelessly share my internet connection. I have been speaking to Ripplecom and they are sending me out a router with the settings pre-loaded so hopefully it's just a matter of plugging it in. Thanks for your help.
