No idea. Look it up yourself(look 8/9 years ago and work around 2005/2006 as a base and look at the years before that)

Iv a fair idea of some just wondering was there any outsider

Conor O'Brien is an excellent player.

Don't know much about Ben Betts but he is a massive kid

Ben Betts is a serious player, very unlucky no to make the Irish squad last year through injury, great athlete for the size of him too.

wouldn't know a lot about him just that he is a massive unit of a lad

another year where I'm fairly sure none of the second rows are taller than 6'5

No surprise there, but the days of picking a player for his height are long gone.

second rows need to be 6'5 and up to have a realistic chance at making it professionally.

Perhaps as Munster sides cant compete for All Ireland if not. Not sure how it would work but considering Ulster also changed their age groups for this season so who knows how All Ireland will work.
ie In Munster the age groups that would go to all irelands are under 18 and under 16 and the eligibility dates are for under 18,players born between 1/1/96 and 31/12/97 and under 16 is 1/1/98 and 31/12/99 while in Leinster and Connacht under 19 is 1/1/95 and 31/12/96 while under 17 is 1/1/97 and 31/12/98 while in Ulster under 19 is for players born between 1/7/94 and 30/6/96 while under 17 players must be born between 1/7/96 and 30/6/98

After last season Munster changed from the under 17/19/21s age groups as the main age groups as there was complaints of clubs struggling to field at under 19 level for various reasons and it was thought that by changing back to under 18s/20s that more clubs would be able to field at both age groups(which are the a main point where playing numbers in the sport drops considerably) however Leinster and Connacht did not want to change while Ulster went back to the old method that existed before the change of the eligibility dates several seasons ago.
Yes I agree that its crazy that all provinces are not playing the same age groups but it was the clubs in each province who voted for the changes as they felt that by making these changes more clubs should be able to field teams which is a very valid reason for change

It would be interesting to know if it worked. While I have no doubt more clubs will be able to field at U18 rather than U19 I wonder has there been an increase players over 18 staying in the game

Couldn't tell you but assume there is as those who would have been in last season of under 19 this season(ie born in 1995) will all be playing adult rugby if kept in sport from last season and there is less pull on under 18 players playing adult rugby as only the oldest few players are eligible to play senior/junior 1,2,3 from the first of this month unlike last season where the under 19 players(born in 1994) were nearly all 18 at start of season and eligible to play adult rugby earlier in the season which would have affected a significant number of clubs.

Pan Munster Draw. Any opinions on it??

    Whats wrong with draw?
If you finished first/second in your region you get 2 home games. Its virtually impossible to seed underage competition so what would you recommend as a change to the competition?

lets say the 2 teams that qualified first from each div should be in different groups and so on.
Anyone's club play bruff 18s this year??

My club haven't played them but they're a very good side. They have quite a few players who won Munster under 17 title in 2012 underage and were semi finalists at under 17 last season.

Where would you have played them. Don't wont to make 4 sides travel too far just for convenience of people to watch both.

Will you be at any of the games? Would be good to get a match report.

Was at the Ardee/Dundalk v Mullingar game. A close game with some good rugby from both side on a day not made for open rugby. There was a gale blowing right down the pitch. Mullingar played with the wind in the first half and had the majority of possession however some great defending and penalty count of 11-1 against them in the half meant they couldn't capitalize on that possession. Ardee/Dundalk did breakout of their half and attach into the wind on a few occasions and with some great work at the breakdown from their backrow managed to score a try in the corner. 5-nil at half time.
In the second half Mullingar made much better use of their dominance of possession and scored two good tries (Wallace and McGivney I think) and converted one. 5-12 With about 15 minutes to go the Ardee No 8 O'Rielly, who was their stand out player, made a hugh tackle on O'Brien but was clearly concussed after it (he actually stumbled and fell down twice) The assistant referee told the ref but after much debate with various coaches from his team he was allowed to continue playing.
Shortly after this Mullingar conceded a couple of penalties including a yellow for their outhalf.
Ardee/Dundalk were very patient in possession and went through the phases. eventually with only a few minutes left they got over near the posts and converted to leave it 12-12.
Mullingar were awarded a penalty in their own half and were told their wasn't time for the lineout. Rather than kick it dead they decided to run it, got turned over and penalized. the penalty was converted and Adree/Dundalk won 15-12.
Over all a good game given the conditions. However, for me the whole thing was spoiled by seeing a young clearly concussed man being allowed to play on. I had hoped we had moved on as a sport.
