I thought some were with the schools. Are you still involved in any of the squads? 17s or 18s?

I see the IRFU are moving to block the player poaching that happens at the big schools. Kids joining schools to play senior cup rugby will have to be at the school for 20 months before being eligible to play.

Cian Hurley moved from Clonakility RFC to CBC. Sadly he will be unable to play SCT rugby until 6th year. He is going into 4th year. Is with Munster schools.

Fantastic. And is great to see as helps the club game no end and the top players will still be able to progress and develop through their clubs and regional development systems.
And if theyre 18 years old they can play adult rugby and or 20s which is higher standard

So he will essentially be playing schools friendlies but not the cup competition or will be released back to play club rugby

Didn't they start that rule last year? Just means poaching will start earlier but I guess that makes it more of a lottery

Does anyone know how the Munster U18's schools got on last night against Italy? Can't seem to find a result anywhere.

Munster 19s defeated a Nenagh 1st/2nds mix. Is score of Ulster clubs v Exiles correct?
Should some of these results not go in 20s thread/create a schools thread and go there?

Delighted to see a good representation of Tarf lads in there. Great reflection on the work done over the last 5-6 years to correct our old youths teams.

Tarf probably have the star forward of that side in Daragh Bolger, plays LH and TH prop.

I'd be surprised if O'Dea didn't start at 10 either once the interpros come around.

Ye Daragh is a big lad and has already done some training with our seniors last year. Frankie O'Dea is very good pity we lose him this year to Fintans with them being Sect. B now.

It's the weakest Leinster u18 club and schools sides in awhile IMO.

Schools missing some players due to injury, plus Blackrock not producing many players despite winning the JCT 4 years in a row.
Clubs missing players to poaching from schools. And just generally having a weaker standard than previous few years IMO.

Interesting that there's a few Fintans players there in the club team will they have to go to the schools team once they play a game in their new league?

I was told they would be given a dispensation this year but if they stay in Sect B then they would not be eligible for youths from next year on.

So is this year just a trial year for them to see if they can hold their own and if they don't they'll drop back down?

Will from next year. May affect suttonians numbers in clubs side if years to come.

League fixtures beginning to be published. Provincial u17 club sides and regional sides had a blitz in Athlone today. 10/12 teams minimum involved afaik...
