    Hi folks,

My calendar says there's a surf comp this weekend at Bundoran but I can't find out much about it.

Can someone tell me where? (Bundoran Reef or Tullan), when? and is there any other entertainment on the day?

I've never been to Surf comp so I'm not sure what to expect. I'd love to go along and watch the decent surfers having a go at it...

    Cheers,

    CJ

Ah yes, that's where I must have got it from...

    Bundoran Surfing Championships

    26/03/2011

The Bundoran Surfing Championships is the second Irish Championships Tour event for 2011 and is a selection event for the Irish Team to compete at the European Surfing Championships in Bundoran in September. The following categories will be included, Open Surf, Womens Surf, Longboard, Open Bodyboard, Womens Bodyboard, Master, Senior & SUP.

I guess it's been cancelled... No waves as Cecil Mor says. Not very well advertised even if it was going ahead...

I you want a comp that's good craic then the strandhill open on 30/31 July- Co Sligo Open would be the one to go to but they aren't that interesting

The ColdPro in Spanish Point on June Bank Holiday is shaping up to be a fairly big event also, not sure it is through ISA though

reminds me the longboard comp in Lahich in september would be good as well. It's much more social than other comps

Bundoran surf champs is on tomorrow as advertised and conditions are looking good for punchy waves at Tullan strand.

Damn... I didn't think it was on so didn't go. Was up at Streedagh all weekend aswell.

Would have been great weather for spectators...

    Oh well....

Wasn't there but heard there was no swell, most competitors were lucky if they caught one/two waves... Wasn't much to see!
