Think it came out that the £440 Million was covered under a guarantee. Unjust but it wasn't illegal.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the trillions of oil reserves yet.

And they stole our Billions of fish.

As for the Euro, Multi Nationals have used it to great effect, making it our largest export market by far, unfortunately many indigenous companies haven't.

That's the opportunity cost of the property bubble that you never hear about, we just sold houses to each other rather than use capital to produce stuff and export it.

We'd a great chance to build on the growth from 87-00/01 with the Euro. We ballsed it up.

The bail out fund is too expensive and shows the major weakness of the Euro. Nobody dreamt of the bad times when it was designed. The problem is, like we had to fund Greece, countries are borrowing from markets to lend it to Ireland and the markets know there's big risk of us defaulting.

According to Vinnie Browne and Mary Hanafin, it was paid up outside of the terms of the banking guarantee.

If tonight's primetime on RTE is to be believed the IMF bailout will go ahead and likely cripple this country. Portugal has dodged any decision on the austerity plans and put bail-out packages firmly on the back burner until it can manage a general election.

They're hoping the problem will go away by the time a new government is elected and a mandate is agreed for the austerity plan .

This is the response you get on boards if you dare to use your own mind instead of following the flock of lemmings marching off the cliff.

    +1
I read a very good post about Libya the last day the poster obviously put a bit of time writing it and it was put into "conspiracy theroy" and of course when people hear the word "conspiracy theory" they just laugh it of

What happened there was Vinnie brought it up and Mary actually was right, she just couldn't cite why she was right.

But still, the common perception is that Vinnie was correct and some like yourself, think it was illegal.

I'd suggest reading this thread and the accompanying documentation:

FF giving away money - boards.ie

Certainly wasn't illegal. Hannafin just couldn't point to the relevant document explaining were the Irisg Govt. had committed to the payments. Vinnie exploited that very well, hence you saying it was illegal a month laterz

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.
