No sound

just reinstalled xp on a Philips Iqon pc. when it restarted i had no sound. in control panel and sound it had "no device" and the hardware was defaulted to a modem with no other option. every thin else was grayed out. when i tried to play a sound it said that the sound card was in use. any ideas..

Oops, just seen you have to pay there. Then do this:

Get Everest, take a look which soundchip you have, google drivers !

thanks ironbar..no joy with getting drivrs but did a system recovery and it seems to have sorted it.
