Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hard Drive Dead - advice needed

Was asked to look at a 10 year old hard drive that kicked the bucket a few weeks ago. It was clicking, so I sent it off to a data recovery crowd in Dublin.

They tell me they have sourced several different parts for the drive but none of them match and it is more than likely fecked, because it's a Western Digital drive, finding the matching parts is very difficult.

They're is info on this drive that the owner needs pretty bad.

Should I take their word for it or should I get the drive back and send it to someone else if anyone has any recommendations.

    Any help would be great.

Have used these guys on various occasions, they can rebuild a hard drive and usually good at sourcing parts. Can be expensive but i'm happy with their work.
