    Which side should the fan be on?

    I'll explain this terribly:

    1. I realise the pic is of the bottom of the cooler and would obviously be facing the processor when installed and
    2. that the fan connects to that side of the cooler (as shown)

    but would the fan be on this side of the picture (or the other side, if the whole thing was turned around to face up) if the motherboard and case line-up as follows:

    Fans usually suck through the heatsink.

    You want air flowing upwards and back.


    I think you need to attach a different mounting set to suit that board.
    As far as I can make out, the fan side should be on the lower side when you are attaching it, so that air is sucked from below, through the heatsink and upwards.

    Right, the air does flow into the heatsink.

    You need to use the mounting pieces with the three holes on the circled parts shown.
