    I can't see how paying for anti-virus/firewall etc can be considered a bargain alert.

    AVG is horrendous to remove, any antivirus s/w that needs a removal tool for to clean up after is pretty poor.

    Sorry guys, I though you would like this considering the price of other internet security softwares like Symantec, Avira, Trend etc which is for 1 year subscription only. This one has a 3 year subscription. It is upto you whether you kike to pay for an AV or not. Some people simply think that only paid versions are worth and this alery is for them.

    When I used Windows I did the following;

    1) Install AVG Free Anti Virus and updates for free.
    2) Install Zone Alarm or another reliable firewall for free.
    3) Optionally installed Spybot Search and Destroy and a Rootkit Detector that's free.
    4) I also used the Symantec/Norton/McAfee Online Virus Checker to scan my system regularly, also free.

    Although now I use GNU/Linux, I don't have to do any of the above. :)

    I used to use AVG free on a load of machine I support, but I stopping using it as it just got too heavy on resources on older machines. I've switched to MSE aswell on a load of machines, and had no problems with it.
