Bichon scared

    OUr 11 month old Bichon has suddenly ( in the past week) afraid of other dogs. We had him really well socialised and bring him to the dog park whenever we can. Lately whenever he is around other dogs , he gets nervous and cowers beside me. Nothing has changed in our daily routine . About three weeks ago he was lunged for by another dog but that is all that has happened and he seemed ok after that . It has been the last two weeks. He is fine with my friends two King charles and his other play pal but any other dog he is so scared of.

    Any suggestions of how we might help him. I walked him into the dog park this morning on his lead and let the other dogs smell him first then let him off but he just cowers beside me. Its horrible seeing him like this as he has always been the first to look for a chase of any dog and now he is just so scared.We are so worried about him

    How do you react when he gets scared? Do you kneel down to him and reassure him and cuddle him? He could just be feeding off your anticipation of him being scared and has figured out that when he reacts like this he gets attention and cuddles.

    When the other dog lunged at him did it make contact? Could he have been injured?
