the point im making is that if the garda didnt make any notes on the side of the road for a traffic stop the chances are he isnt going to, in general it is going to be more serious incidents where notes have to be taken afterwards as the garda wouldnt have time to take them there and then, at a traffic stop the garda has all the time in the world to write the details down, it makes no sense for the garda to pull the car over for five minutes and not write anything down if he intended to at some stage

This is simple, you have not broken any law so dont worry.
You have the free right to travel. Always remember that! (I know about this stuff because I am the first and only pilot in this country who operates aircraft without a licence). Thats another story! I used to be part of this money making scam until I found out what was REALLY going on.

Understand that the road traffic act is just an ACT! It is not law, however, it can be given the force of law when consented to by the governed (That means you!).
Just say no and dont represent your Person (Legal fictional identity).
They are only after money !

Garda = Profit making private company (Look it up for yourself on dun and bradstreet website).

Remember, you have the free right to travel. This is a god given right, look up common law or brehans law!
Republic of Ireland = Public limited company!
25th Feb 2011 = Ireland elected new directors to the company listed as "The goverment of Ireland PLC".
    WAKE UP folks..

Exact same reply to 2 different posts,TROLL. Do hope you enjoy those mushrooms tho!

Time will tell. I am also angry about drivers doing 30mph on good roads. I am a careful driver and have no points. Also I drive a Corsa which is 973cc, so I rarely overtake unless the car in front is really slow. I know the law is the law but I would consider these slow drivers a real problem on the road.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 243 ✭✭sboyle01

Hopefully I will know in a few weeks. Also I was driving a 973cc Corsa at the time so I rarely overtake any cars. Only if the car in front is really slow and I have a good straight. I know I broke the law but it seemed like common sense. I think people should be charged for driving too slow, they cause a nuisance and if they are not competent then they should not be on the road.

30 mph drivers, should be castrated, might stop this inbreed of drivers from occuring in the future

Its a single straight line you know not to break it , you broke it, you got caught there really is nothing to argue here.

Momentary bad decision it could be worse.

If you didn't get the "under section bla bla bla" speel I doubt you'll hear any more about this. I was stopped in Galway once and they wanted my Galway address (Cork one was on the drivers license), where I was working, name of local Garda station in Cork, what I do for a living etc etc. The cheeky bastad asked me had I come to their attention before too, I asked him why, did I look familiar :pac:

Don't think you are correct there, James. For a good while now there is no requirement for the garda to tell you about any penalty/prosecution. I'd be expecting a letter....

It's simple. You broke the law. Common sense says don't overtake over a continuous white line. Wait for an appropriate spot to overtake.

This happened to me a few years back driving up in Donegal.

Overtook a bus driving in the hard shoulder on a continuous white line. Garda on a bike pulled me over.

He took my licence and walked back to the bike for a few minutes and got on the radio.

Came back with my licence and said, "OK, safe driving".

Thought I was away scot free only for a letter to come in through the door a few weeks later, 2 points and 80 euro fine.

I was raging that he never mentioned it at the side of the road as I definetly would have argued it, bus was in the hard shoulder and only reason I crossed the line was to be extra safe, nothing even coming in the opposite direction, wide road, only a slight bend. Bleh, anyway, expect points!

You shoudn't have payed the ticket. You said you would have argued it. The way to do that is say nothing to the Guard, don't pay the fine, go to court when you get the summons and put your case to the Judge. It probably would have been struck out.

I do agree it is pointless arguing the toss at the side of the road. The place to argue is the court.

They don't give you anything at the side of the road.

You'll get a notification in the post as to the offence, and any penalty. This may be as simple as a fine and points, or may even be a summons.

All he needed for this was your license, and your details.

a bit sneaky dont you think
why dont they be man or woman enough to come out and say
sir you will be getting a ticket whatever
the ould dirty irish way say nothing and let it off in the post
takes a special breed of person to take on a job like that

If you're pulled over, then it's highly unlikely you're getting away with it.

This is the way it's been done for a number of years now. You don't get any notification on the side of the road. You simply get the summons, FPN in the post in the coming weeks.

That is a joke, look at the levels of corruption that go on in this country. The government is corrupt from the top down. Politics, Governement officials, Bankers, Developers & lets not fail to mention the cops that were working for fred thompson, or the cops working for Brian Rattigan & if thats to hear say for you.. Then the Morris tribunal.... Fact everything in it was posted out to the public, practically an entire district from the head honcho Sargent to the desk jockey, all rotten to the core but for the honesty and bravery of one decent cop it'd still be going on. This is farcial, we can talk about corrupt politicians, bankers & developers but not cops?????
Are you living in a small town where one honest local cop looks after the enitre juristiction??? Are you saying cops aren't bribed? They've been caught before & they will be caught again believe me:eek:. This country is corrupt..:pac:

Firstly, do not discuss moderator actions on thread and certainly do not post PMs without permission.

Secondly, just because corruption goes on in this and other countries does not mean it is right or just and certainly does not mean that it should continue or that it should be advocated. Not all members of AGS are "rotten to the core" and I think you'll find that the vast majority are honest and upstanding people.

Thirdly, I'm not a member of AGS, nor do I work for the government, nor do I live in some small town. So there goes that theory out the window. :o

This is not a very good start to your boards.ie posting career... take this as your final warning.
