Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jesus H! There's some seriously savage photos there. I saw your photos of the boxing matches last week & like them, but I'm only a casual watcher of the sport, so they didn't resonate with me as much as these ones.

I am however a big football fan & those pictures really captured something special.

    Excellent work. Seriously.

Here's a few, I'll have more up over the next few days. Some away fans to begin with, next will be 'before the game', and lastly 'the game'.

There were no problems with bringing my dslr & camera bag into the stadium and taking pictures. I was up in the premium level so maybe that made it okay. I was in a fair bit before the kick off and wandered around taking lots of snaps. If I was sitting pitch side maybe the stewards would have told me to put it away.

I'm number one baby so why try harder? This enthusiastic fan even asked me did I want to take a second picture of him to make sure I got a good one.

Trap is great for the facial expressions.

I think his management skills need to be altered. The Force is only science fiction and he's no Jedi.

Poor assistant got a full on shove from Trap after Doyle left the pitch and Long was waiting to go on as sub.

Taken from way up in the stand with an 18-250 lens.
I know it's not as sharp or bright as it could be but I'm very happy with it.

I tried my hand at a few abstract photos at the recent Ireland vs. Macedonia game in Dublin.
One reason is because I was sitting far away from the pitch it limited the amount of 'proper' sport action photos that I could take so I though I'll try something else. I have three photos here, the first one is my favourite, I feel that it kind of convays the burst of energy when Robbie Keane is sprinting for the ball.
In fact the last two aren't even that good I think but I'm just posting them anyway to show what I was trying to do with them. If I could have zoomed in on a player closer and kept him sharper/in focus then I think they'd be better.

Exposure 1/6th of a second to achieve the blurry effect
