They are playing Scotland. He shouldn't be a liability.

    Wouldn't put it past him.
Hope Scotland put up a good performance.

i assume you're looking for a more sophisticated answer than...

    "because he's a good player"?

It was probably more rhetorical. Lovely day over there, love watching matches on a nice day in a nice stadium.

Scotland have started well so far

Great run, Scotland's defence didnt even see him run.

I think when Brazil find their gear Scotland are gonna get hammered.

Scott Brown blindsiding Neymar in a friendly .

Thats a few times Brown's been involved in off the ball clashes - looks like he;s taking his lead from his club manager in how to approach a friendly!

Its no surprise that were seeing a real gulf in class between the two sides today, the Brazillians are a million miles away from anything Scotland can offer.

    Few meaty challenges goin in.

The Scottish team bus seems to be lost and is parked in their box

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Lucas just did enough to stop Whitaker getting a proper head on that.

Brown's a very, very average player who's overrated because he goes around the place flying into tackles.

A favourite tactic of his is to start getting in the faces of players who he can't get near.

    Neymar :)

Wonder how long it will be till he goes to a top side, he certainly has all the quality and attributes to be something amazing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

    1-0 Neymar nicely worked goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

it's the first time i've seen Neymar, but my God he looks a special little player.

    stupid fúcking hair though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 250 ✭✭blockedPaT

    Nicely done by Neymar

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,397 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Whenever he does come to Europe i hope it's to Spain. Roberto Carlos/Ronaldo/Ronaldinho have all had success there in the last decade.

Just as long as it's not Man City he ends up at. Santos are in for a nice payday though!

They were saying at the start that Santos have a 66million release clause in his contract and they are holding to it

Good to hear that they won't be bullied by European sides who think they can do as they please, that's all well in principle and I hope they do stick to it, although I suspect it will be a different story if an offer of around half that figure comes in as that would be a huge amount of money for Santos and almost impossible to refuse.

Talk about hyping a player up...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Release clauses are not worth the paper they are written on.

Well Chelsea had a 35million bid rejected in the Summer for him and many people around him advised him not to go, Including the Brazil Coach

Wouldn't be surprised if they went knocking again in the summer. Seems Carlo wants to build his own Brazilian team within Chelsea!!

You won't be saying that in the Summer if Reina walks to Manchester Utd.

Suppose you cant call a young player good anymore before the overhyping brigade comes along.

Not much point in playing him in a game where his team won't move from the edge of their own box :pac:

You can says he's good no problem but there's no need for everyone watching the game to stand around in a big circle and have a big wankfest over him:rolleyes:

Get over it. He was(is) the stand out player in this game, so of course we will be discussing him and he so happens to 19. Talk about nit-picking

It's ridiculous that he is being hyped up so much with a good performance v Scotland in a friendly.

It's more the ITV pundits and commentators than in here that are driving me mad.

    You'd expect it in here:rolleyes:

Caldwell could of given away two penos today

Have you been following Neymar playing for Santo's?
Its fair to say no judging by your posts.
You come into a match thread with nothing to add bar the usual dull crap that gets posted in this forum dragging the thread thru s**t. Expected of course but still annoying.

Anyway, enjoyable game. Scoreline isnt a shocker by any means.
