Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Macbook to Philips TV Audio Problem

    Hey all,

First off, sorry if this is the wrong forum. I wasn't sure which one was best suited.

On to the problem! I have my MacBook connected to my TV using a VGA connection. Video is perfect but the audio only comes from my laptop.

I've tried using a red/white stereo adapter from the headphone jack on my Mac to the specified audio ports on the TV with red/white RCA cables but that didn't work. I searched around and found the user manual for the TV and it says I need "an audio L/R cable to connect the VGA Audio L/R to the back of the TV." Here's a link to the manual (page 41 for the VGA connection diagram).

I'm thinking I need either an S/PDIF cable, a M/M stereo audio cable or a Male to 2x RCA Male.

Any help here would be much appreciated. I don't want to buy more cables and find out they won't work!

    Thanks guys :)

Thanks for the reply! I guess I messed up the wording of my post though. After reading the manual, I figured out which port I need to connect a cable to for audio, the problem is I don't know what cable I need to buy! My bad. :p
