There must be different material up for the different centres because I've never seen those cases before. There not up on the Course Material section for Audit Elective when I log on to student site. Can anyone confirm this??

Yep there is different material up for each group. I got a mates log in the other day and his group has different cases, notes etc.

Has anyone found any decent notes for Business Leadership and/or IMP anywhere else?

I was looking at opentuition.com and the notes for the ACCA P3 paper look as if they could be useful.

This is a ridiculously simple question, but where are the solutions for all the case studies in the Resource Pack(Dodgy Contructions, Datatech etc). I can't seem to see them anywhere on the ICAI site?

Hi everyone,

This studying is great craic. Just going through the cases and I'm missing some:

I can't see the solutions for the cases for IMP in the Student Centre, does anyone have them? (Sovereign Property Specialists, Small and Large, Freeze Refrigeration Group & Company)

I also can't see the solutions for a couple of the strategy case studies: Ace of Hearts and Health and Fitness Club.

I got the solution for Black and White Foods, case in the strategy toolkit. Have the solutions for the other cases in the toolkit been put up, I can't see them either..??

Finally, I can't find the case for Second String, does anyone have it?

Hey I would say the best thing to do from now on is just case studies and questions. Thats my plan at the moment anyways. Im basically working my way through old exam questions, the case studies, exam papers and the FR book really.

Im trying to build up my hours but I would say I am averaging at about 7 or 8 a day at this stage but I am prob sitting at my desk for 10 cos I'm still managing to do a whole lot of nothing. :eek: Would be interested in other peoples thoughts on how much we should be doing at this stage too!

Wow really? Im doing nowhere near that...In fact my biggest struggle is finding stuff to do....Im trying to spread the case studies/Q's out and you can only study technical stuff for so long.

Everybody is different though and has their own way of doing things. I'm focusing on resource pack/additional cases/ old fae audit, Multi D, tax/ Financial reporting case book and then the rest is technical stuff.

Bloody lost for audit though....feel like I should be doing so much more but have the past papers nearly all done and dont know what else to be doing.

I am resitting audit elective and was in the same position as you last year, ran out of stuff to do, did all the past papers for old fae and to be honest it was probably a waste of time, the technical material is very important for the audit, if you can argue your case and back it up with the technical material you will probably pass auditing. One thing i will say is the mock seemed easier than last year so hopefully the real paper will be too!

Word of advice - don't compare your efforts to other people. I know people who've only started the last week or so and will be fine and know others who've been going steady since June doing seven hours a day, and others doing ten hour days since mid June. Don't look to stress yourself by comparing yourself to others.

Everyone is different in how they learn and how quickly they can learn/apply information. You'll be far happier if you just focus on your own efforts!

Hi all, hope studyin going well. I'm just enquiring about piecemeal acq & disposals. Im sitting the faes this year as i pulled out last year at last minute & as im in belfast i can't attend the dublin classes. As a result im doing all the studyin on my lonesome. Someone had mentioned to me in a Tax NI class bout piecemeal acq & disposals being new - can anyone advise me....

What's the difference with the consolidation process we learnt before???
Anybody recommend notes/live streaming session on it???? Is it completely new????

Anymore new things that were brought up in classes??? (Apart from the tax changes?

I think somebody attached notes on piecemeal earlier in this thread so if you flick through the pages you should find something on it. Personally, i would be surprised if they gave us something on it or any form of comsolidation as it is more a Cap 2 area in my opinion and also the fact that we had that continuous assessment on financial reporting already.

There is a new Combined Code also this year and this was attached earlier in this thread also.
