Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Greetings,

My bike has Shimano 2300 with a 8 speed 12-25 cassette. I would like to change the cassette to a SRAM PG850 11-28 cassette and want to know if this is compatible with Shimano 2300?

If it is compatible will I need to increase the size of the chain?

    Thanks.

    They are compatible.

The chain length may have to increase. There are a few different ways of determining chain length.

On a similar note, I need to replace my shimano cassette and I'm thinking of getting a sram one. Do I need different tools to do so? I have access to shimano tools only.
    Thanks!
