I said much earlier in this thread that this could end up being on the next generation of consoles. That suggestion was shot down but these new screenshots still make me think I'm right.

Unless they're using the old trick of showing screen shots from the PC version.

I have reservations about it going to look that good. Either that, or I need to rethink a budget gaming rig and upgrade to a colossal machine!

Oh my god. I need a cold shower.

It doesn't look too far off the GTAIV ones,
    This is STILL impressive

And you can't really tell anyways from these images.

The graphics I'm not too pushed about because I'm guessing that's on a beast of a PC, and that's not gonna happen on my budget, it's the potential. That little biplane, the countryside, the choppers, the truck-jacking...

I've been very antsy for San Andreas' more desolate areas and recently my 360 decided to stop playing Xbox1 games, so this is killing me.

Looks great so far, definitely listening to the fans this time going back to a SA style landscape. However, they better keep the realistic driving mechanics from 4 as it was the best thing about the game imho. I never understood people who gave out about it. It took a bit of getting used to but was so worth it when it clicked. Any word on this?

Ah the driving in GTA 4 was just boring and slow. Very few fast cars around when you want them. The thought of robbing the closest car was a chore so would just pay for a taxi instead which is the opposite of Grand Theft Auto.

I much preferred the driving in IV, it was much more realistic but they did seem to take shortcuts with the physics of the cars at high speed. At times it seemed like high speed was just an effect and you weren't actually going any faster. It may have just been a limit on the game engine because it couldn't really deal with loading everything at high speed.

I'm really hoping they don't use that crappy euphoria engine

Coming out Spring 2013. No confirmed PC version. Definately looks like they wont launch it with a PC version even if one comes later.

At least theres finally a release date for it!

Not a release date... also notice from the article
Today, we're proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto V is expected to launch worldwide spring 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Rockstar are pretty notorious for delaying if they feel it neccessary, both Red Dead and GTA 4 were delayed after concrete dates were given, im guessing the "expected" bit is them protecting themselves in case it happens again

Its available to pre order on Amazon now...............no mention of a release date as far as I can see.

I want to be able to collect money off the shop keeper down the road who I extort and go blow it all in the casino on gambling without even playing a mission.
It'd be great to be able to take a walk or drive around the game and things and stuff just happen and they matter, as in, the game is really open ended with nothing set in stone.
Money should be really important, as in having countless ways of spending and getting it. Blow all your money on red or black or pool or racing or pimpin' your ride or procuring bombs or a drug shipment which could get compromised and then go make it all back again.
I basically want vast expansive countryside to drive whilst also having a large amount of buildings in the urban area accessible with a good story line and with interactive characters and genuine in game enemies :P

I'll buy it if it's original plan view GTA with slightly improved graphics so I'm going to be impressed with GTA V no matter what they come out with.:)

IMO everything that happens when you're not actually in a car is a bit ****. And that's a lot of stuff.

Strange, I thought the opposite. With GTA 4 at least. The story and setting of Liberty City I thought were both fantastic. Found the driving far too clunky and awkward. Thought the driving should have been kept as one of the few slightly unrealistic aspects of the game, like in Vice City. Although maybe not quite as over the top as. :P

I honestly expect Rockstar to release GTA 5 next spring. They're not exactly averse to releasing their big hits outside the 'core season' for games i.e. the Christmas period. Look at Red Dead Redemption and 4's releases as proof.

That's not to say I'm very happy to see them retreading the same waters with the setting somewhat. I know a major theme running through the series is its critique of American culture, but I would've loved several cities outside the US being included instead of just one this time. Would imagine they'd only be able to do this justice next gen though!

To be fair 4 was scheduled for a november release only for it to be delayed, and 3 and vice city were put out in october and November also ;)

second trailer out tomo at about 4pm Irish time I think. I think IGN are doing a video rewind/breakdown straight after the trailer airs although youre probably better off waiting for them to put it on youtube later if youre interested in watching that.

Im very excited about this even though I havent played much of GTA 4 but San Andreas was one of my favourite games. Ill get round to finish GTA 4 prob sometime before this comes out. Watched a few youtubers videos of whats gonna be in it so for and Im liking it although I would've liked San Andreas RPG elements to come back (working out, getting fat, etc.) The idea of 3 main characters is very exciting especially given you can jump between each one.

Hopefully the trailer tomorrow will show off a bit more of the city and the activities.

Cant help but think that this trailer will have a release month/date.
