Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We've cleared through the backlog in ticketing (caused mostly by a startling number of people not following what seemed to us to be simple instructions).

So, if you've paid for a spot but haven't received a ticket number yet, it's because there's a problem, not just a delay. Drop me a line if this is the case and we'll sort it out.

    Hi all

It would help if anyone attending the event could print out and sign our waiver, esp if you are under 18 as your parent/guardian must also sign. Thanks

Emailing them up would probably be easier for the player. But whichever suits yourself really. ;)

As far as I know you should receive a number letter combination from paypal, something similar to this- 70mk45676h77844127 which is what we are looking for.

    Hope this helps.

Don't worry about it, everybody's got a first one. :) Just make sure you're well familiarised with the rules, and if you have the right attitude, to treat it a little more seriously than a weekend skirmish, you'll have a blast.

UN suspects Rionegron arms embargo breach

    (AFP) – May 4, 2011

UNITED NATIONS — UN experts are investigating suspected sanctions-busting arms deliveries to Rionegron strongman Carlos Munoz, according to a UN report.

UN investigators are looking into "the arrival of weapons cargoes from abroad" in April, said the report which has been handed over as clashes mount between followers of President Munoz and Renegade General Veron. The UN Security Council warned again this week of sanctions against any side in Rionegro who breaks an arms embargo imposed at the end of last year when the country was torn apart by civil war.

The investigation focuses on four aircraft which landed at San Pedro airport in southern Rionegro, in territory controlled by Munoz's forces, between April 17-21. The planes arrived from Angola, Cape Verde and Sao Tome and Principe, according to the report, a copy of which was obtained by AFP. Investigators are also looking into a shipment of 10 large wooden crates "which may contain trucks or tanks." The report said the consignment has been at San Pedro airport under "24/7" military surveillance. The report by a monitoring group with the UN mission in Rionegro, UNOR, detailed about 11 suspicious activities for international experts on the UN sanctions committee for the Latin American nation.

The United Nations would not immediately comment on the report.

Rio-Negro. It's Spanish for "Black River", if I'm not mistaken?

If your mate isn't drinking, then what's the issue here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 205 ✭✭stevie4568

no his over protective parents dont want him there if theres gonna be drink there:S

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

People may well drink on the friday night, but not during the game. Thats up for Shane to decide.

If his parents are so overprotective, why do they let him play airsoft?

    stevie4568 wrote: »

Without meaning to be an asshole here, but what do you want the organisers to do about it? Ban everyone of legal age from having any sort of drink the night before so that he can attend?

What exactly do this guy's parents think that this will be? A 24 hour drink & drugs (redbull notwithstanding) rave in the middle of a forest? Any event I've been too has either had a "no alcohol once game on" routine and/or only once the game officially stops (if it stops) for the evening.

What age group are we talking about here?
Also, what exactly has he told his parents about this event? Because I also suspect that the drink thing is a cop-out by his parents who are in fact more freaked out with their son "playin' wit de guns".

Anyway, wouldn't hurt for the organisers to officially clarify their position vis a vis the intake of alcohol concerning this event.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 205 ✭✭stevie4568

they dont mind the shootin its jsut the drink and if theres no drinking during the game then itll be grand:P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

Oh yeah, no professional airsoft event organiser would allow a DROP of alcohol DURING game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 205 ✭✭stevie4568

    oh ok brilliant thanks firekitten:)

You called it (apart from the professional part); there'll be drinking on the Friday night and probably after the end on Sunday, although I seriously don't want people who'll be driving drinking anything whatsoever before they head away, but during game time, noooo. The game itself is a dry event; the pre- and post-game socialising isn't.

We'll add this to the rules, thanks all for raising it. Stevie, your mate's parents have legitimate concerns in my opinion, people can be awful spas when they're drinking. I certainly intend to be.

From what I've seen, your a bit spas without the aid of drink :D
