Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cost Plus Sofas - "buy the room" and get a free iPad 2

Just saw an ad on TV 3 for this. Apparently, if you "buy the room" you get a free iPad 2. I think this starts from €1199 for two sofas and a coffee table ... might be a good deal if you need the sofas anyway and want an iPad 2. Offer ends on Sunday.

I'll see if I can get some more details...

/EDIT/ ... pics of the TV ad ...

    Hi

If the i-pad deal is anything as bad as the "free T.V" deal, then don't bother even calling to the store. Cost-plus are only conmen. Strange how they have just opened a new store in Castlebar today but have called it a different name? is this to make a quick buck, close up and then the poor customers have no where to go with their complaints??

If it's only the sofas that are in that picture then it is without doubt the crappiest, ugliest and most uncomfortable sofa I've ever seen in my life :D

Be wary of this mob, the iPad won't be free.

Notice how it says "get the IPAD free"...no mention of Ipad 2 !!!!!
I would suspect it's an original ipad 1st gen!

I saw the ad this morning and it says ipad 2.

Fair enough so....I was just going by the screenshots where it just says "ipad".

    You sure it's not...
"Buy the room, and you get a free iPad too!"? ;)

Can anyone explain my original question: Why have this shower opened a new store in Castlebar but under a different name?

    Terms and Conditions:
The term 'room' refers to the computer generated backdrop image used in these promotional materials. The term 'ipad' refers to the latest period protection product from Kotex . Offer ends midnight April 1st 2011. Your statutory rights are unaffected by these terms.

I must add my dislike for this crowd. They wanted €3300 for a sofa corner unit I was looking at. I nearly choked. Bought one just as good for €1399 in Harvey Norman, I kid you not.

    They can keep their iPad.

The ad doesn't say "get an iPad free". It just says "Get an iPad."

    Caveat emptor.

I was in there yesterday and they include the price of the ipad in with the price of the sofa, tables etc and then knock a few quid off. Scam

Just seen this on tv and I think it's an extremely misleading add!!

Fair enough it doesn't say it's free anywhere, the big problem is making it look like you get the ipad 2.....

The first time you see the ipad mentioned it says... "buy the room get the ipad 2" they are using the number 2 instead of too! it's not like it couldn't fit on the feckin screen or something!!!

I'd wonder is there an invitation to treate case here??????

definitely worth sending in a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority... if they get enough complaints they will remove it

Would be worth it if it were a long term promotion but it finishes on either Sunday/Monday

Sound like a very shady operation to me.

They give you like a credit note / voucher for like 459 yoyo or something and you can claim it in store or online.
Was in there earlier today. My first time in there and EVERYTHING seemed really overpriced to me for what it was. Which was often minging.

What have they called it so, because I drove past two of their stores today in Sligo & Castlebar and they are both Called Cost Plus Sofas & Beds Etc.

Where are you getting your info?

Looking at the pics, the coffee table looks to me to be worth about 40 yoyo, the couchres about 400. The rest is for the Ipad. Complete rip!
