As the title says, I've noticed a change in packaging but most importantly the 'slab' of choc as gotten thinner...what gives, is this a crafty way of reducing costs by craft (see what I did there..eh? eh?)?

loads of cenfectionary company's are reducing product weight as opposed to upping prices

The BBC programme Watchdog recently ran a segment that highlighted the weight reduction of a number of consumer products, including the Gü Cheeky Pots of Chocolate Ganache. The Gü team strive to produce chocolate puds of the highest quality. Our Cheekies were one of the first products in our range and remain a signature product.

However, we have been increasingly challenged to bring you these mini pots of silky smooth chocolate indulgence for the same price, as commodity prices of our key ingredients, chocolate and cream, have continued to increase significantly over the past three years. For example, the price of chocolate has more than doubled since the product was launched at RSP £1.99 in 2007. During this time, we have not increased the recommended retail price of this product. As we advised BBC Watchdog, we have reduced the weight of our Gü Cheeky Pots of Chocolate (from 3x50g pots to 3x45g pots) from March of this year. We made this change honestly and transparently, ensuring all packaging and supermarket shelf edge labels were immediately corrected with the new weight.

We believe in the quality of our chocolate puds and remain committed to delivering the best pud experience to our consumers. For more detail on commodity pricing and our rationale behind this change, please read this statement, which we shared with the BBC Watchdog team. Or, click here to tell us what you think.

Bags and bags they used to bring us over. :D

According to the Cadbury rep.....they put a new machine in Coolock to sort out the problems with the wrapping etc, but the bars are still marked at 53g!!!
