Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

sorry if this has been asked before.
as i posted already in another thread we're paying €91 p/m for full sky incl. multi room. we're used to all the packages and watch certain channels in each section.
now that we're in a recession i need your opinion on whether to keep sky or get a freesat.
pros and cons would be of great help also.
    thanks dirtynose.

Pro - your up 91 yoyos a month
con - you have to watch all the freeveiw stations instead of sky's repeditive content.

If you really want to broaden it a bit you can get stations from other countried. you need a bigger dish and a more complex setup. (most stations can be changed to english speaking as most of them are dubbed.

Depends, if you absolutely love some channels ONLY available on Sky, then stick with them.

    As I mainly watch BBC 1,2,3,4, Ch4, ITV1, Film4 & More4, Freesat is great.

BBC1HD, ITV1HD and arriving in April Ch4HD all free.

I don't think anyone can make the decision for you, bar tell you the options.

    Pro's
    • the money saved,
    • Freesat+ - you have the recordings as long as the hard drive lasts
    • You buy boxsets of shows you really want to watch that a sub only with the money saved at probably a cheaper overall cost*
    Con's
    • you lose the sky channels
    • possibly less customer support (for what it's worth?
    • more limited sport*, although more than you may think
    • whingey family members who've lost channels they want

*Obviously there are other options, if you have decent broadband too!

Remove cards from boxes, plug boxes out and in again to get the free channels-use them that way for a few days as a test,if you survive by just watching free channels then cancel your sub.If not put the cards back in and continue watching Sky.
Why not reduce your package?Movies and Sports are the expensive bit.If you cancel there's no need to spend any money buying new boxes unless you want a freesat pvr to record with.
