A BILLIONAIRE American – whose ancestors are from Donegal – is set to launch a bold bid to buy Glenveagh National Park and open a Las Vegas style casino strip there, donegaldaily.com can reveal.

Seamus McFadden The Third, a wealthy oil tycoon from Oregon, can trace his ancestry to the tiny townland of Glassagh in Gaoth Dobhair from where his great great great great grandfather emigrated in the 1780s.

We understand he plans to offer the cash-strapped State €980M for Glenveagh Castle and the estate and has ambitious plans to build a complete Las Vegas strip along the two mile entrance to the castle and gardens.

I know today is April fools day and all but surely this can not be true. Glenveagh National Park to be sold and a Casino complex built in it's place. I hope this is some sort of joke.
