Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is bad language on Irish radio accepted?

Things have toned down considerably since Eamonn Keane left Newstalk.

It's probably because in Ireland, as opposed to the UK, there are no formal guidelines about bad language.

Most stations here follow an albeit-loose "no bad language or swearing until after 9pm-ish" rule, but there is nothing under BAI regulations that forbids bad language at any time of the day on any Irish radio stations.

The overall standards of presentation on British radio are much tighter then here, including language.

Brian Kerr, and Dave McHugh are heard regularly, so I must assume yes.

Apart from the 'F' word almost anything is considered ok these days, at any hour of the day.

It's the same with songs. Ray D'Arcy played the album version of Stay Too Long by Plan B which has loads of fu cks in it and he just said after that he put in the wrong version and moved on like it was no big deal. Words like sh!t and nigga are left in on stations here but are cut on BBC Radio 1.
