Quick pop into Phoenix park for a spin and testing out my healing knee over a few roots on the mtb. Had to take a breather though as it was melting today!

Always remember those cranes from my time in college in Belfast.

They were named Samson and Goliath. They now have a preservation order on them.

Despite having gone up to Sally Gap many times from Manor Kilbride, today was my first time coming the opposite way. This is from the bridge at Cloghleagh beside St John's Church. Beautiful up there today.

Cycled down to Crone Woods carpark and hiked up through the forest after someone in the Hiking and Outdoor Board mentioned a trail that takes you along the Dargle river to the top of the cliffs where it becomes Powerscourt waterfall, lovely spot but legs were wrecked for the cycle home:

Was on Gaeltacht visitation duty in Connemara this weekend, got two nice spins in, Saturday morning was a bit dreary, even damp, this morning was a bit better but that only encouraged the midges, you can't win I suppose....

Cycled over Paarlberg ("Paarl Rock", named after the glittering granite peaks - "pearl rock") The town Paarl have quite a history, including the Afrikaans language. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paarl

No wind, mist in the valleys, blue sky - One of those days that can only be described with the words from Jean Bobet: "La Volupte"

If I ever get up the courage to go to South Africa... Your pictures do a wonderful job of showing the fantastic array of sights and scenery never (if hardly ever) portrayed.

Thanks. Always welcome - we have a spare bedroom, spare bikes and like to braai dinner with guests. Just let me know when you board the flight. ;)

    EDIT: (I am serious)

If you are back out that directions, have a spin out the R335 between Leenaun/Killary and Lousiburgh. Simply stunning scenery.

Oh, I've been up there before, base this time was in Cashel so even though I'd have liked to head up through Leenane and on towards Louisburgh there just wasn't time. Next year though......

Pushed some buttons on my commute to work this morning until the Odometer reading appeared on the screen... What a random number :).
Just realised, we have cycled around the Globe in the space of two and a half year... and a bit ;). I could not resist to stop and take a snap shot...

On a scale of 1 to 10 how dangerous is this?

Also this has been going on now for well over a year and despite a garda station at the top of the road nothing has been done.

The garda station on Kevin St covers to the middle of Wexford St. The side in your photo is Pearse St district.

0 or 1? You should try turning that corner when there's a car with you. One of the motorbikes there is in the cycle lane. Jokeshop

"Accidently" knock one off it's stand and they won't be there for too much longer;)

Not quite as far up the scale of 10 as the cnut taxi driver driving up the bike lane at The Punch Bowl yesterday and then stops suddenly nearly taking out half a dozen commuters yesterday..Amazing how bad some of them are as so called professional drivers
