I am cycling solo but get on well with myself, I am very good company :pac:

I'd probably have started a row and not be speaking to myself at this stage ;)

I'm curious about where the bike lives when you're not using it. I'd be worried about it being nicked every time I went off on a day trip, but maybe that just comes from spending too much time in Dublin :)

It stays at whatever Guesthouse I am at. Some of the time I am there too, other times I have gone off somewhere and back in a few weeks.

This little park was always a very tranquil place to take a breather. Hardly ever a sinner there but much frequented by me when I was out cycling in that neck of the woods (North Eastern China)...

Yeah - I like that coffee shop - very friendly place!

That's where I first heard about The Tain route, I'd love to do that some time.

Not sure what the seven wonders is though?

    Water flowing up a hill.
    Wood that never burns.
Monastery that was built on bog land and did not sink.
    Water that will not boil.
    Mill without mill race.
    Lintel stone lifted by angels.
Hermit never had to look for food.:)

30cm of rain in 36 hours on Sunday and Monday last week, missing nothing!

The weather here varies a lot, it's very Irish today, grey all day, breezy and pissing down since about 5.

The weekend will be a bit more Mediterranean though::):):)

Blorg, on Burma, I have cycled there. The roads are easily the worst I have ever come across, probably matching Romania for potholes. I have cycled in China too, and it's a completely different experience. If you are going, make sure and hit the shan state, nice drag up there from the lowlands though, although Laos should be a good training session if you're there now

From Kunming, in south-west China. Rented a bike, saddle was about half a foot too low for me, but put up with it because I was only going on a flat spin around a park. Then I saw the mountains the other side of the lake, and my climbing instinct kicked in. Hope you're all well at home!

I was in Kunming only a few weeks ago. Where are you staying? Have you found the noodles utterly addictive yet? (Pho here in Vietnam can be nice but just NOT the same as Yunnan noodles, that stuff is like cocaine.)

    Have you had much cocaine?

You never struck me as the type.
