Plateau du Cambasque, 1363m. 16km at 5.3%. First stage win for Indurain was up here in 1989. The 5.3% is very misleading, last 3km are 11%. It has been a stage finish for Tour and Vuelta.

Sean Kelly was 4th in that 1989 stage.

Richard Virenque won in 1995, the stage on which Cassatelli died. Michael Rasmussen won the Vuelta stage here in 2003.

    Does this count?

    193961.jpg

What? It's cold and dark and wet and...did I say cold?

  • Registered Users Posts: 988 ✭✭✭Benbecul97

Doesn't count - you were on your couch and not your bike when you took it!:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 238 ✭✭dermur

Actually, sometimes I had to get off the couch...when the bike was blocking the TV.

Are you just nipping down to the local shop, buying up all the postcards and sticking them on the web? ;)

    Seriously good shot there BTW.

It's easy to take photos in the Pyrenees, just point and click and there will be something interesting in the shot.

I know exactly what you mean, i have been trundling a certain road all winter and saw a few lakes beside it for the first time last week.

It's between Kingscourt and Bailieborough, Co. Cavan (see above post - I didn't browse that far!)

Lovely shots - at first I thought they were some of velopeloton's pyrenean pics! Nice to know we have places like that on our doorstep...

Although not an Andy, I got some inspiration from that too. Just as you get to the top of Glenmacnass I think it was.
