No, it does not. The element responsible for good pictures is placed just behind the camera, when taking pictures ;).

obviously the skill is in the person operating the camera velo :)
    Oh yeah ;).

You can still take a good picture using a compact camera Lenny. Sure, it has its limits, but a skilled person will take a better photo with a small cheap camera than a non-skilled person using the best SLR available.
It is like with cycling - no matter how good and light bike I ride, you can still dance around me on a heavy mountain bike, as you are fitter :).

Sure, you do :). So I would suggest to save the extra weight and take the small camera you have on your cycle holiday.
You can always improve your photographic skills if you feel you need to ;).

If it was me, I'd be taking the DSLR. I presume you don't get many chances to take pics in the Pyrenees !

lenny's no man for dancing up climbs on the bike anyway, hes more of a downhill man,

I plan use the 8mp off my phone, cant carry a camera on the two big days anyway.

One man and his dog...and his scooter.

This guy was going slow enough for me to come along side and take this pic. Although I'm not sure if it was because of the road surface or the perilous position of his canine companion...

    Very nice spot, Meercat.

Didn't realise Mullaghmeen was so close to Castlepollard. Must try and get out there next time.

Do you know of any other forest spots around the Fore/Castlepollard area?

    not off hand
    use this park regular
always find new trails off the 3 walking routes
i try the evenings when there are less walkers
its a massive park so its easy to spent time there

It fits into my jersey pocket and I don't care if it gets wet.

Ever hear of a sandwich bag with the sealable top?

Yes, that's the point, it fits in a ziplock bag and in a jersey pocket, an slr will not. When you take it out to use it, it gets wet.

Then you need one of these, which can also be used instead of these, which would result in less usage of this and these, leading to an increaed amount of this in your pocket and thereby making it easier to put it back into here, which would, ipso facto eventually lead to solving this!

How about that for an extrapolation...

Ooh - that's nice but don't fancy it on my road bike. Last time I did something like that I had a bruise on my butt cheek for a week! Typical scenario, rear wheel looses traction and suddenly you're going nowhere but down with both feet clipped in...

Athgoe hill just outside Newcastle, Co Dublin.

In general, passing any gate sign with "Hilltop", "Hillcrest", etc. makes me happy. ;)
