Excuse the terrible mobile photo quality, but had a pretty epic day out on my hybrid riding the trails on Forth Mountain. I'll go back with a proper camera the next clear day like today, the views were amazing.

Hadn't been on the hybrid in months, couldn't believe how well it rolled over all the big bumps and boulders (no suspension). The problems came on the loose shale and gravel, the 700x32c tyres didn't quite give me enough grip. But still, the benefits were there when I got back onto the tarmac.

Looking out over Lough Corrib from Newvillage woods over Oughterard. Some not so nice showers. Punctured, and a ruined GP 4000s tyre for my trouble. Fast return to Galway though with that breeze behind us - 37km/hr avg!

125k in the suburbs of Athens (garmin died 30k of the finish) on a Trek city bike with suspension. It was so freakingly hot, 37C at some point, I am so not used to the heat anymore and I just couldn't take it at some stages. There is a reason people don't do long distances on straight handlebar bikes that weigh 14kgs. My knees are in pain.

Did my first club spin on exactly such a bike! Although it also had flat pedals.

Praia da Luz in Portugal. There's a couple of km of cliff top path from Lagos which ends atop the hill there. That's a hire bike from a local shop.

Great part of the world for cycling. Did an uplift day around Monchique with the local trial guide too. Recommended!
