Stopped to tighten loose bottle cage at the Top of Snowtown Naul today and decided to take this, lucky to have this on my doorstep.

(Note must get on the ESB about that Pole ;))

Your bike is clearly too heavy and has knocked over said pole :-)

If the weather is not too hot and if you plan on going to the west side of the island you should really try climbing Psiloritis, quite amazing route. There are many amazing uphill routes you can take there, let me know if you need a few. Alternatively just look for segments in Strava that have more than 2000m of climbing, you ll find few :)

Lovely spot. Was hoping to get down that way myself in a few weeks.

That picture is at the top of Slievenakilla, the top of a climb between Dowra and Ballinamore, it's the second Cat 3 climb below, travelling anti clockwise. The first climb is also stunning, the Glan gap, between Glangevlin and Dowra, it's a fantastic decent too, road conditions are perfect. The decent from Slievenakilla is treacherous, but it's a fantastic climb.

108 degrees Fahrenheit at the start-spectacular 26 mile climb...Bring lots of water!

    Unbelievable descent!!!

Did it last November. It's not that tough, though it was cooler. The gradient never gets very steep until the very top around the ski area. Last Saturday in Wicklow was tougher.

    Thanks gallant,

I know the glangevlin climb fairly well, from both sides, but not the other one. Will have to give it a go!

Was your photo at glan gap? Didn't recognise it, the last time I was up there the mist limited the view somewhat!

Very true, but boy was it hot 2 weeks ago-It's a lovely cycle-great surface, changing scenery but you need water and electrolytes right now..

Wicklow was awesome last week full stop:)

If anyone else is thinking of doing it, Roadrunner cycles on Broadway do good rentals-we got Fuji Gran Fondos with 105 and helmets/repair kits for 50 bucks all in for a full 24 hrs and it's cheaper for the next rent by 14 dollars...http://www.roadrunnerbicycles.com/

I'm going to guess right hand out holding camera. Slow shutter speed can be used as light is dismal in any Irish summer. Result is motion blur for the background and legs.

Thanks. Just took the phone out of my pocket, click, and there it is :).

Yeah, more less as you said. Just used a cheap phone camera rather than a proper camera ;).

Have some more, never thought they will come out reasonably OK...

It is a headband around the GPS unit and the front light mount on the right :).
