Was this the young man I saw cheering today at The king of Greystones. He was a happy looking chap out in all his gear and bike. Thanks for the support :)

    Swerve anyway.

Cycle paths are littered with posts, poles and road signs. Clearly few road engineers in Ireland ride a bike.

Yup, the ferryman. Got directed up the wrong ramp, questioned it but was told it would fit. It didn't...

Ouch! That hurts! There seems to be quite some damage, did they cover anything?

Hope they pay they dues Conor, looks like a couple of bikes written off and probably some dmg to the car and the rack.

A bit of RD and chain trouble today brought a halt to my cycle after about 20 km. Whilst awaiting the rescue team I amused myself by observing a ladybird on my saddle. As shown in the picture it seemed to have an attraction to the red stitching. I assume (wrongly?) that ladybirds are colour blind and therefore it wasn't mistaking the stitching for a mate. Any entomologists on here care to enlighten me as to the reason for its behaviour? TsIvL.jpg

I had one land on my handlebars and hitch a lift for nearly a kilometre. Nice shot.

Nearly 2 weeks here now and I'm beginning to go native. The locals have accepted me now, and refer to me fondly as Frederico.
