Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    i have new guarder sp90 & sp100 springs.with my set up(lonex silent piston/cylinder head set & 6.03 python) the 90 gives me .6J:confused: and the 100 gives me 1.2J.
i can understand the sp100 readings but not the low sp90 readings.ive swapped them around twice with the same results and i know im not putting it in backwards.any ideas whats happening, bad spring or wot? o ring on piston head is fine, works with minimal pressure pushing piston by hand

and on another note, is a bearing box slightly louder than a bushing box? theory for asking is does the gaps in the bearings let more sound out?

What's your compression like? If you take out the cylinder assembly and piston, then cover the cylinder head with your finger then push the piston, you should have a good bit of resistance, if not, there's your problem. There's no front or backwards with a sping;)

And, I can't say I've noticed any difference, onced they're shimmed right, they'll be as quiet as you can get it.

have you tried another sp90? There are chances it could have been packaged wrong at the factory... hence the low reading.

As the gun works fine with the 100, Im inclinded to think its a dodgy one, if you got it from an irish shop, perhaps ask for an exchange on it...?

there great compression there lefty and i thought the back of the spring was the end with the coils closer together??:o

kitten i dont have another spring to hand at the mo but im kinda on the same wavelength as ya(dodgy spring),i got it awhile ago(never used tho) so think an exchange is outta the question.
ill get another one and try it so and hope that fixes it
    thanks lad n lassie:D

oh yeah, cheers on the bearing end of question lefty

Agree with lefty on the bearings... the smoothness of the unit make it quieter, plus, dispite holes, they move too fast for the sound to penetrate really... they are about as quiet, if not quieter.

Not wishing to be contradictory to Lefty but it is the 'accepted norm' and and manufacturers suggestion that when using 'NON LINEAR' or 'IRREGULAR PITCH' springs(such as guarder) that the end with the tighter coils be fitted to the rear of the mech box-ie on the spring guide. How much this affects FPS is debateable though.A guarder SP90(with proper cylinder and compression) should give around 310-320fps.Perhaps Firekittens suggestion regarding wrong spring being packed holds merit. You could if you wished cut maybe about a coil and a half off the SP100-bit of trial and error maybe required. It would be better however to have a proper SP90.
    Dave.
