Hi, I'm currently in my last year (touches wood while fingers crossed) of a BA (Hist) and am just looking at options of further study, and I thought I'd check out the Medieval studies available. But as I am not from Ireland (nor living in your fair land) I was wondering whether anyone could come in here and tell me about options and other insightful info? :)

There's also an MA in Medieval Studies in UCD. I'm not familiar with the course, but you can find information about it here.

    UCD course is well recommended.
TCD have a great one too, and also have a specialist interdisciplinary school of renaissance and medieval studies.

    All very different courses!
It might be worth having a good look at the prospectuses and course outlines on the internet to get a sense of what really interests you.
Folklore and Celtic Studies are obviously very different disciplines to Medieval history.
Many historians end up in teaching or lecturing, so if you were hoping to go down that route, it might pay to focus on the courses and colleges which are best ranked internationally, or to seek to study under particular academics who enjoy international renown.
