    Epic loosing run continues.

    Punch 6:05

    Caolaneoin
: I liked the look of his win at leopardstown and his first run against Lovethehigherlaw was also eyecatching and there may not be much betweenthem and he is 3 times the price. He just looks a bit overpriced here at 34 win 8.8 place on betfair.

1 Point Win 2 Point Place Betfair

    Punch 6:40

Natal: Im going to give him a small chance at a huge price. He ran a very good race in a grade one over 2miles here last year, and the step up in trip and down is class could give him a chace. He has had a decent break and was similiar last year. Overpriced

1 Point win 1 Point Place. Betfair 65 win 19 place.

    Tomorrow Punchestown 4:15

Cuan Na Grai: Ran at fairyhouse and really never got into it at all, but done the same last year when pulled up at faryhouse after a break and then dotted up and punchestown. Hoping for no more rain as he really is a good ground horse. He has a 7lbs claimer on today which gives him a very nice 11 stone racing weight. looks well overpriced for what he could do. This claimer has a 9/40 record for nolan and 16/60 in the places. MAX bet

3 Points Each Way 18/1 Ladbrokes

    Punchestown 5:30

Mourad: I think the bookies may have it wrong here, he has improved a lot from last year when he was 3rd in this. His world hurdle run was easily his best ever and it doesnt compare at all to winning the mares race on the bridle. That world hurdle may have been the best ever and he was only 4.5 lenghts down in 3rd. Altough Quevega is still the most likely winner i think he is way to long compared to her price of 4/5.

4 Points win William Hill 9/2

    Punchestown 4:15

Battlefront: 2 miles around here at this time of the year bares no relation at all to some of the Heavy ground chases he has ran in since his win here last year over c&D. He is 5lbs higher today but he won very easily last year and any reproduction of that would see him in with a chance here. The stable is well capable of getting him ready for this, and he looks overpriced with ladbrokes at 25/1. Only carrrying 9:12 and katie certainly knowes how to win here.

1 Point Each Way 25/1 Ladbrokes

Fair Along: I had fancied him for the scottish national, but he missed that. He has looked like he will love the the step up in trip lately and almost never runs a bad race. A rating of 140 here really should give him a chance. There is nothing in this field even close to what he generally faces and even tough he has to carry top weight his odds of making the first 5 here are more like evens at worst..

3 Points Each way 20/1 Boyle Sports.

    Punch 4:55

SEBADEE: He has some decent novice form, and was running really well in the National until he made a huge mistate 3 out. Looks a good traveller and might be in with a small shout here at a big price. Will like the ground

    1 Points Each way 40/1 Bet365

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

    Punch 5:30

Thousand Stars : He looks to most likely to benefit if the Hurricane isnt on form. He looks to be improving with every race and there really isnt much between him and menorah. Binocular does seem out of form so that makes his price of 17.0 on betfair seems really big. His run at aintree was very good and a similiar run here will be enough if the Fav dissapoints.

    2 Points win 17.0 Betfair

    Chester 2:55

St Nicholas Abbey : 7/4 Coral and Bet365. Looks like they forgot about AOB runners needing first run. He just not getting sent here to loose. Didnt look great last time, but really he should be a class apart here. He has to go of lower than this. Harris tweeds best form is listed on soft ground and St Nich wont need to be at his best. Not my style to pick a shortie but he should be odds on.

    4 Points win 7/4

    Punch 7:45

Boxer George: His run at aintree where he fluffed the last and just failed to catch Baby Run (who is rated 136) (when i was on at 50/1 EW:-() does look good in the context of this weaker race. Willie said before ahnd that he will like better ground and todays longer trip and better ground should really see him close to fav here. Paddy power look at least a point to big at 5/1. It is going to be difficult to beat Cork All Star but there might nnot be much between them.

2 Points Win 5/1 Paddy Power

Collateral Damage: Some of his form last year would give him a shot here at a huge price. He got left behind last start and that looks the main reason for the big price. Worth a small bet on betfair at 38 win 7.6 place 4 placed on betfair

1 Point win 1 Point Place

    Ascot 3:25 totesport Victoria Cup

Advanced: He is an old favourite of mine who has been running well in a lot of these races, for the last 2 years. He has been gradually creeping down the weights and his first run of the season was a good 5th over 6, where he stayed on again after getting balked near the end. If he is anywhere near good form he would have a decent chance with only 8:0 to carry, and this makes a change from the beginning of last year when he was rated 13lbs higher.

    2 Points Each Way 33/1 5 places

Al Muheer: I’ve been following him for a while now and I’m certain that he’s well handicapped at the moment. He won over c&d 2 years ago with 10 lbs more, and his last run over 8f wasn’t too bad when things did not go right for him, although id have to suspect that he has been trained with today in mind. He is drawn very wide and that looks a disadvantage, but i cant desert him of his current mark.

    2 Points win 14/1

3:40 Haydock totescoop6 Swinton Handicap Hurdle

Barizan: The 2 miles on fast ground here is ideal for him and it’s the first time he has seen those conditions since his very good runs at the end of last year. He ran well enough in the Martin Pipe at the festival, where he went off in front and didn’t stay the extra 5 furlongs of that race. He has a 5lbs claimer on tomorrow and has a nice racing weight of 11:04, if he can get away early he may be difficult to peg back.

    Punchestown 5:00

Chasing Cars: Ive been waiting for this one to run in a good ground handicap after last year very good run here. He hasnt been that good this year, but his last run did show a bit of primise and the stable is in very good form as it usually is at this time of the year. He has a decent racing weight of 11:00 and any reproduction of last years for would make him look excellent value. He loves the ground and course.

    2 Points Each Way 20/1 Bet365 5 places

    Punchestown 5:35

Truckers Delight: Has been running well this year, he has a good course record and looks of a very good mark in 122, with an excellent 5lbs claimer on (with whom he won at punchestown before. His last run at Gowran was eyecatching without a lot of effort it seemed. He looks well overpriced, and should like the decent ground (any more rain would be a disadvantage)

2 Points Each Way 25/1 Paddy Power 5 places

    Punchestown 5:35

Westmeath: Could have a bit of class, and altough his mark doesnt seem that great judged on his last run, the owner was bullish enough about his chances last time. Ive missed some of the value as some money has come for him now , but he is still worth a win bet with william hill at 11/1. His leopardstown Maiden win did look impressive. and his good ground Bumper win augurs well for the ground. One of the most unexposed in the field.

2 Points win William Hill 11/1. Currently 11.5 on betfair

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

    Haydock 3:05

Green Mile: He has been 2nd in this before, and altough he has been poor over hurdles for the last while, he did have a couple of decent runs on good ground at this time last year after a couple of poor runs. So im preempting that there might be a few quid for him at the current prices. He is a capable hurdles on his best form and hopefully has been prepared with this in mind. There is a 7lbs claimer on today so he is only carrying 10:02. Betfair have him at 36 win 8.6 place.

Sonning Rose: Big outsider but some decent runs last year that would leave her totally out of it if she improved over the winter. Good 7f Good - Firm listed performance at ascot.

Sunraider: Decent record fresh, and a few decent runs last year, drawn in middle and looks to have a tiny chance at 100 on betfair.7 lbs claimer on first time

    Rosc: 8:20

O'Muircheartaigh: Going to give him a small chance in this 2m5 chase: hes down to a half reasonable mark and the last time he had a small break he ran ok in a hurdle on decent ground, he is a decent traveller and might squeek into the top 4 at a good price. Last 2 runs need to be ignored tough. Good 5lbs claimer on can only help.

    York 1:30

Sand Skier: I love seeing a consistant horse like this at a huge price in one of these handicaps. He has made the frame on most of his runs in similiar handicaps, and is down to a new low mark of 87. He has Fallon on board, and the step up in trip from his last run looks to be an advantage. He looks at leask 10 points 2 big in Stan James at 25/1

    York 3:00

Hamish McGonagall: These sprints have a habit of trowing up a few surprises, and im hopeful that the selection is going to be an improver this year. His last run beating what i think of as a possible very good horse this year in Waffle, on Good-Soft, give me the impression the the 6 furlongs on Good here may not be as much of a stretch as many think, and he generally finished his races of well. He looks overpriced a bit considering his rating and has been consistant in all his races.

1 Point Each Way 20/1 Various

    York 3:35

Gifted Leader: It been a long time since he ran on the flat, but he has improved over hurdles lately and one of his last runs on the flat was a very good second over c&d here of a mark of 80: Im hopeful that hes in good form and they are hoping to exploit a good mark, and Fallon is on board. He looks overpriced on Betfair compared to other sites at 22 win 5.1 Place.

1 Point win 2 Point Place

    York 4:10

Sonny Red: Its hard to catch him right but if he goes of at the 50/1 Available with coral, or 65 win 10.5 place with betfair for every race he should be profitable to follow. He is well drawn i think and has got a decent record fresh. His mark is well within his grasp on a going day and looks worth a small ew Bet

1 Point win 1 Point Place Betfair 65win10.5place

Midnight Martini Again probably a decent draw in 12, and had an ok run for first time out this year. She was a very good 2yo and was particulary good around this time last year. Softening going wont be a hinderance and she looks overpriced. The stable has had a few sprint winners lately. Betfair 55 win 8.8 place

1 Point win 1 Point Place.

Able Master: I hit the goalpost with this one a few times last year. He has run well fresh in the past and he particulary caught the eye in the Ayr Silver Cup last year. He looks to be down to a winnable mark of 92. He has won over 6 in the past of 95, and will surly have his day soon.

2 Points Each Way 25/1 EW. Various.

Advanced.. Much easier race here than last run, and should get to the front this time. 6f looks his best trip and he looks a bit of value of his plumeting mark of 88. He better hit for me soon..

    2 Ponts win 11/1

    Thirsk 4:25

Goign to go with 2 of the outsiders of the field in this sprint that are coming down the weights and are bound to click at some stage soon at a decent price.

Masta Plasta: Well down in mark from last year, and altough he was poor in Mayden this type of race is well withing his grasp of this mark

    1 Point win 30 Betfair

Hotham: Down to the mark last year that he ran a number of good races, and altough he has been poor enough since. he may well be down to the right mark here and is drawn well. Twice last year he won at decent prices and is well capable of doing the same again at some stage.

    1 Point win 44 Betfair

Going for Kingsgate Choice : Took a run to get going last year at this time, and looked a real good sprinter after 2 good wins, he looks a bit overpriced after his poor first run this year. His mark has started to slip down and could be capable of getting back to it here at a good price.
