attention deficit disorder can you help??

hi my son is waiting for to be tested for attention deficit disorder his school think that he shows signs of it and his doc has sent off the report so now we have to wait for an appoinment. anyway i,m probly jumping the gun but would anyone have any info what sort of test it will be? what happens afterwards, what help can we get for him and is their a support group in waterford/wexford/wicklow area?
