FireBird Oil Burner

    Hi all,

I have a firebird oil burner and I just noticed that there is steam coming out of a "valve" on the top of the burner. It's like a pressure relief valve? with steam and droplets seeping from it.

I did notice that the heating system pressure was high (almost 4bar) so is it just releasing pressure? Never noticed it before?

    Thanks,
    Barry

The PRV opens at 3bar, why do you have 4 bar pressure ???.

I don't have it intentionally at 4bar - I think a pressure valve on the feed in to the system has failed open.... I closed it manually so I assume the pressure will drop by itself?

You need to relieve some pressure, preflably from a rad vent valve.

Will do - thanks for the quick replies. What is an "ideal" pressure? 2bar?

Depends on instalation but 1 bar will sort it.
