I heard that Dublin bus are considering cancelling the 48N nitelink plus the Rathmines nitelink service. Checking the dublin bus website today, it appears they are already defunct. The hearest nitelink for Ballinteer would now be the 46N one going through Sandyford, which is not very handy if you have to walk back to Ballinteer. Leaves a large area of south Dublin without a nitelink service it would seem?

Is the luas an option - are there late night luas running after midnight?

The 48n is gone as of last weekend, however both Rathmines routes remain.

The 15n and 49n still operate - so you can still save on a taxi from the city by taking a 15n to either Ballyboden or Rathfarnham and walk/taxi from there, or a 49n to either Terenure or Templeogue.

Not great, but at least there is still a cheaper option than paying over EUR 20.

Last LUAS is at 00.30, Monday-Saturday nights, and 23.30 on Sunday nights.
