eircom.net mail through upc on thunderbird

    Hi,

    Trying to set up the mother's eircom account on thunderbird using pop.eircom.net and smtp.upcmail.ie (our ISP)

    However, the smtp server keeps 'timing out' when trying to send an outgoing message. I am not sure why.

    Would appreciate any tips :)

    This was solved by changing the smtp connection security.
