Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Advice on NAS

    Hi,

I am interested in getting a NAS for my HTPC as whenever I stream 1080p HD content from my iMac upstairs to my Acer Revo Windows 7 HTPC it tends to be choppy. Similarly, the SMB share are unreliable.

However, the NAS devices seem quite expensive and overkill for my set up as I have about 500GB of media.

As such, I am considering connecting a 1tb Buffalo Live Station II NAs drive to my router. (The router is connected to my HTPC and this would allow me to go completely wired). The Live Station is EUR110.

    See here http://www.dabs.ie/products/buffalo-linkstation-live-1tb-nas-5CQ6.html

There's also a few 1tb Iomega Home Media NAS drives on adverts.ie for a little less.

Any thoughts? Should I buy now or are the more expensive offerings really worth it?
