Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Interesting site, I have to disagree with the general statement that textiles are rubbish and leather is always better.
I read a lot of stuff on leather vs and I am not convinced that leather is always superior.
The kevlar stuff out now is pretty good, in fact after reading this crash report I would seriously consider one of those kevlar jackets.
Leather is good but in this climate its not always the best choice. I like it and have some but find that textiles are better if I ride in inclement weather.

I agree. I like the waterproofing and breathability that Textiles offer but for abrasion protection, i feel more comfortable in leather. That said, the type of bike you drive can determine what gear you use. When im on the gixer, i use full race leathers. When im on the xvs1100, i use kevlar jeans (JohnDoe) and a leather jacket if the weathers nice or Richa textiles if its inclement.

Each to their own i suppose.

The site is interesting, and has some good, basic tips. But some of it is UK specific, and not very comprehensive as a far as brands and price guides go. Good for someone starting off and not sure whats what tho.
