HTC Legend Moisture Damage Repair

Sprayed computer screen cleanser on my HTC Legend to remove gunk on the screen. Bottom line moisture damage. HTC Repair guys returned the phone with the expected refusal to proceed further. Warranty kaputt etc.

    Anyway...

    Phone still switches on
    Charges the battery
Buttons light up and respond to darkness/light sensor
HTC jingle on start up, get occasional beeps from phone.
    Volume control works

    Just nada on screen.

I'm fairly competent in electronics and could do a tear down. If it were just replacing the digitizer then I would go ahead with self-repair.

Forget it or give it a go?

Thanks, that's really helpful. Does the HTC Legend/Desire have the digitizer and the screen in the one package? I thinking a budget of around €90 to get the whole job done if it works out.

Left phone in with K-Phone in Bray. Looks reasonably promising. Will know by the middle of next week whether the phone is repairable.

Hope you get sorted. I'd probably cry if my phone broke.
